Every year, I pick a recipe that pushes me to my limits. Last year it was this Gingerbread Cake and this year it’s this Sufganiyot Croquembouche. I won’t sugar coat it (pun intended) this recipe isn’t a walk in the park. But I have to say if you’re looking for a confidence boost, dusting this beast with its final sprinkling of sugar does indeed make you feel like a boss. Make sure you clear your schedule if you decide to take this dessert on. Rushing through any step will likely end in disaster or result in caramel-related burns – speaking from experience. So now that I have intimidated you completely, let’s dig into this Sufganiyot Croquembouche.

As the name suggests, today’s Quattro Formaggi Pizza features four different kinds of cheese. But this classic combo gets a sweet hit from fresh figs and a drizzle of honey. The pizza is finished with a few grinds of black pepper, which gives it wonderful contrast and the barest hint of a burn. What I love most about this pizza is it knocks on the door of nostalgia without giving into it completely. And l love the holidays because they’re like one never-ending dinner party. So to celebrate the arrival of the most wonderful time of the year and the USA’s turkey day, I put together this Braised Turkey with Chorizo.

The title for today’s recipe reads like a laundry list of my favorite things. Adding red curry paste to soups is well-trodden territory on this blog. And pairing peanut butter with chili, well, that’s practically old hat at this point. Except it’s not. It never gets old for me. Peanut butter and spice just belong together and I know I’m not alone in believing this. There are enough spicy peanut noodle recipes out there that you could probably try a new one every night for the next 10 years. Thai Panang curry is one of my favorite spicy peanut concoctions and this Red Curry Sweet Potato Soup is more or less a love letter to that dish. If you have not tried it, run, don’t walk. It’s a dish you ought to experience. I mean, as long as you don’t have a peanut allergy.
